DDJ-SR works with other MIDI-compatible software besides Serato DJ Pro, by assigning MIDI message. Please refer to the list of MIDI message to find mapping values of all buttons and knobs. To assign MIDI message to all software function, please refer to your manufacturers' software manual. The Pioneer DDJ-SX2 improves on the original DDJ-SX design with RGB backlit pads, improved jog wheels, DVS (digital vinyl system) support and overall improvements to a bunch of other bits. It’s easily been the DJ controller DEX 3 DJ software users have been requesting support for the most. Pioneer introduced the DDJ-SR last October, touted as a more compact, portable controller for use with Serato DJ. Of this software is a breeze. If you’d prefer to use it with another piece of DJ software (Traktor, Virtual DJ, Cross DJ), just download the proper mapping and get going. For this review, I used an existing copy of Serato DJ.

Pioneer DDJ-SR is natively supported in VirtualDJ 7.4.2, so this is only required if you use a previous version.
